--== Recipe for Coke Cake ==-- From the kitchen of: the Brannan family This has always been one of my favorites, and is easy enough even for a novice cook to follow. Be sure to read all the directions before beginning! Ingredients: 2 cups of flour 2 cups sugar 2 tbls cocoa 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 1 stick butter 1 cup coca-cola 1/2 cup buttermilk 2 eggs 1 1/2 cup marshmallows Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and grease a 9 1/2 x 13 pan. Place the butter and coke into a saucepan and heat until the butter is melted. Mix the dry ingredients together. It may help to sift the dry ingredients so that lumps don't form in the batter. When the coke mixture is cooled, add it to the dry ingredients, and mix. Add eggs and buttermilk, and mix until the batter is smooth. At this point the batter should be a thin soupy consistency. The marshmallows can be added now, or they can be added after the batter is in the pan. The marshmallows should cover the top of the cake. Bake for 35-45 minutes. Frosting: 1/2 cup butter 2 tbls cocoa 6 tbls cola 1 box confectioner's sugar 1 tsp vanilla Place the butter and cola into a saucepan and heat until the butter is melted. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar and cocoa. Add the cola mixture and the vanilla. Mix until smooth. Place on cake while still hot.
