The conference aimed to explain the role of the IMF (International Monetary Fund) and the World Bank, looking at the monetary myths and global reality. The issues of Third World Debt and trade were prominent. The main plenaries and workshops included Susan George (Associate Director of the Transnational Institute in Amsterdam), Sithembiso Nyoni (Grassroots movment in Zimbabwe), Luis Revelo (Director of Third World First), Paul Brannan (Christian Aid) and others.
